LAST CHANCE: The Wellcome Collection has filled an entire gallery with brightly coloured mist as part of a new installation by Ann Veronica Janssens. Contemplate the human consciousness or just enjoy the pretty colours. Free, just turn up, until 3 January
DESERT: Sneak out of work early and head to Beer Rebellion in Peckham, where the excellent people behind the Deserter website will be toasting Christmas with their own special black IPA brewed by Late Knights. Free entry, just turn up, from 3.55pm
LATE NIGHT SHOPPING: In a panic about your Christmas shopping? Pick up some last minute gifts at London Transport Museum’s shop which is in the south east corner of Covent Garden. On arrival you’ll receive fuel for your late night shop in the form of a rum or gin based cocktail and mince pie. Free, just turn up, 6pm-8pm
CAROL SINGING: Join Stagecoach Theatre Arts School for a festive evening of carol singing at No.1 Duke Street in Richmond. Let kids sip on hot chocolate while the adults enjoy cocktails. Good cause of the day
Homelessness charity Crisis is looking for volunteers to work at Crisis Skylight London in Tower Hamlets. The centre runs workshops, classes and drop-in sessions every week in all sorts of subjects — music, art, maths, IT, theatre, gardening, exercise and more. The winter term begins 11 January and runs to 20 March. Check the website for detail on the specific roles available.
