Davido To Start Scholarship Program Set To Sponsor 4 Students This Year

Singer, Davido, has revealed plans of starting a scholarship program this year, in honor of his late mum, Veronica Adeleke.

The ‘Gobe’ crooner, took to social media to announce the creation of the Veronica Adeleke Education Scholarship program, which will be sponsoring 4 students this year.

He wrote:

“So many people deserve education.. Starting from this year I plan to start the Veronica Adeleke Education Scholarship program .. I plan to send people to school every year … I’m starting from 4 students this year details will be released soon on how to apply…. DO YOUR PART TO MAKE THE WORLD BETTER , EVEN IF YOU START SMALL .. AT LEAST START! OBO !”

Davido, who early this year signed a mouth watering deal with global record label, Sony Music, some days back, inked yet another juicy deal with RCA Records, a flagship recording label under Sony Music Entertainment.

Adekunle Gold To Sue Bloggers For Uploading His Album?

YBNL act, Adekunle Gold, quietly dropped his highly anticipated album, ‘Gold,’ yesterday, exclusively on iTunes.

However, barely a day after dropping the album on iTunes, several music blogs, had the album uploaded on their sites for free download, an act the ‘Ready’ crooner, is reportedly vexed about.

A twitter user, who cam across the illegal action by one of such blogs, tweeted at Adekunle Gold, suggesting that he take legal action against them, a tweet Adekunle Gold replied saying, they are on it and thanking the fan for his suggestion.

Davido Snags Yet Another International Deal

The ‘Aye’ crooner, recently inked a juicy deal with RCA records, a flagship recording label of Sony Music. This exciting news was shared via Instagram by Sony staff, Efe Ogbeni.

RCA Records, boasts of big International acts like; Zayn Malik, Miguel, Sia, Justin Timberlake amongst others.

Davido, who is also working hard on his sophomore album which has been titled “Baddest” alongside an E.P, will be introduced into the international market via this avenue. He has on multiple occasions been spotted with the likes of e has been spotted in the studio with international acts like Tinashe, Young Thug, Rae Sremmurd.

TEAM UNILAG MAKES HISTORY IN THE ALL NIGERIAN DEBATING CHAMPIONSHIP

At the just concluded Covenant Interface, UNILAG debating team set out to make history as the first non-host school to win the All Nigerian Universities Debating Championship. Although we did not win but we made even more incredible strides

All our 4 teams broke into the knock out stages. With my team breaking first position with 21 points

Three of our teams advanced through the octos finals into the quarter finals.

Nathan Odiase Osareme, our very own psychology, 300 level student, was ranked the 2nd best debate speaker in Nigeria with my partner Nuzbe Nwankoro becoming the best debate speaker in Nigeria

I was also 3rd position in the public speaking competition held alongside.

All our Adjudicators broke into the top 28 judges rank, with Temitope Ojelade who was once a crowned champion becoming the 5th best adjudicator

David Akinmade and Olaitan Zanab also ranked 11th and 12th best speakers in Nigeria

We appreciate all those who gave us profound moral support as special thanks to to our coach Dr Rex for the remarkable support and skills she developed in us.

We may not have won the trophy, but broke records that are absolutely tremendous!

Footballer Demba Ba says he will not retire and reveals he's yet to have full operation after horrific leg break

Demba Ba has confirmed he does not plan to retire from football, despite suffering a horrific leg break. The 31-year-old who now plays for Chinese Super League side, Shanghai Shenhua, fractured his left tibia on Sunday, after a tangle with Shanghai SIPG defender, Sun Xiang.

After the match, the Senegal forward's coach Gregorio Manzano said the injury "could end his professional career".

Speaking to Radio Monte Carlo from his hospital bed in Shanghai, China, former Chelsea player Demba Ba said:

“This is a really bad injury but I know I can overcome it. I won’t call time on my career, that’s for sure. They haven’t done the full operation because I told them to wait. I wanted to go to Europe to have it done but when I learned that was not possible I arranged with the doctor here to sort me out a French surgeon who should arrive shortly. He will operate on me.” 

“There are other players who have returned from similar injuries, like Hatem Ben Arfa,” he added. “Something similar happened to me earlier in my career and the treatment options are much better now. I think I’ll make a speedier return this time. 

“The season here ends in November and the new one starts in March. I’ll do my best to return in time for the season after that.”
